Little Rock - A late night shooting outside a Little Rock nightclub has left one man dead.It happened just after midnight outside Joubert's on West 12th Street.Police say the incident started off as an argument, but quickly escalated in the parking lot. Little Rock detectives surveyed the parking lot outside Joubert's Sports Bar, just after midnight on Saturday. Police say it's where they found 30-year-old William Whisenhut of Memphis shot to death, after getting into an argument with two unknown men. Police are still looking for the suspects. (Lt. Terry Hastings, Little Rock Police Department) "Two suspects jumped in a vehicle and left the parking lot. We are trying to identify them, as well as the vehicle."It's unclear what started the argument, but police say they don't typically see violence at Joubert's.(Hastings) "We've had no problems at this club, it's very unusual. Very quiet, there are no incidents we know of particularly at this club. Last month, a man died in a shooting outside a different night club."Police are still searching for suspects in that case as well, but say they're confident both homicides will be solved. (Hastings) "The one at the Sandpiper that occurred, we do have some leads on it, and no doubt, our detectives will make an arrest in this one."If you have any information that might help police, you're asked to call Little Rock's detective unit at (501) 371-4660. Whisenhunt's death marks Little Rock's 39th homicide of the year.

It is a tragedy beyond words. My cousin's life was cut short because someone decided that they had a right to take it from him and his family. He was 30 years old and had so much life ahead of him. They robbed a family of a beloved son, brother, cousin, nephew and friend. He will be forever in our hearts and joining our grandmother, uncle, cousin, and aunt in heaven. Our society keeps letting thugs decide who lives and who dies.Little Rock - I hope you make an example of these murderers.

This is a very sad situation, no matter what happend. Nothing is worth taking a life and it's a shame people can't just go out and have fun. What bothers me is that people seem to point out the race of people, especially if they are the ones doing the killings. Black, white, blue green..it doesn't matter. There is a lot of murders these days and they are committed by ALL races. All crimes should be handled equally but there is not one of you who can honestly say that punishment is the same. Wrong is wrong and ALL crimes should carry the same punishment. If the media fail to point out that someone is black, it is certainly done so in the comments sections.

First of all, I wouldn't really call Jouberts a night club...more of a corner bar. Just a fun place to hang out, drink some beers and play pool...unless it has changed. Secondly, I am so tired of these PUNKS, that run around and start trouble. If they are so tough, why do they feel the need to use a gun...tough guys don't need guns, they can settle their disputes with the good ole fashion ass whoopins

We will miss you Billy!

I knew Billy for about 11 years and trained w/ him and other good friends at Powerhouse Gym and others gyms after it closed. We were like family, and word of this spread like wildfire. I am 15 years older than Billy, but he was a young man I admired, who had alot of charisma and dedication. That says alot considering the the way values are today.....like his killers. Punk thugs created by LIBERALS! The viewing for Billy had 200 people I would estimate, from all walks of life and that in and of itself says alot. For a good upstanding ALL AMERICAN who stood up for his date against savages, and to go down with his boots on, I would not accept less.
It is honorable that he is laid to rest on ALL SAINTS DAY!
To his Mother, Brother and Friends...Let us not forget!

Billy you were a part of my family. Hunting at the cabin in Kentucky will never be the same. When my dad (David Tate) called me at 4:30 in the morning to tell me the news. My heart sunk and tears fell to the floor. I know your up there hunting Gods country now, but there are so many people here that love and miss you. You have touched so many people.I am honored to have known you and feel blessed that my kids got a chance to know you. When I think of you I smile and cry all at the same time. You will live on forever in the hearts of my family and in the season for witch you loved so much... Deer Season... We will see you again someday Billy. There will always be a place for you in my Family .. Now and forever... We love and miss you billy. You will never be forgotten.

FYI THEY Captured the killer The name of the man charged with 1 count of capital murder for Billys death is Louis Richardo Butler. 28 years old of Little Rock. The 2nd assailant has not been named as of 10/30/07.

BUT I HAVE BEEN TOLD he is OUT!!!!!!!!!!!! on BAIL and trying to turn the story around as if Billy was in the wrong.!!!!!

Remember "Louis Richardo Butler"
Suppose to be a Big Time Gang Banger in Little Rock, is out and loose. All I can say is ... Well I better keep my mouth shut....
Miss you Billy!

I watched Billy grow from a boy to a fine young man & now he is gone. He was like a son to me. Every time he saw me he gave me a huge hug and called me Mom. My son, Michael, has lost a best friend. Glenda, Billys Mom, will not be able to wake her son up each morning to go to work, to give a hug and kiss and tell him she loves him. Why did that idot have to shoot Billy because they had words? What gives that guy the right to take Billy's life? I still can't believe Billy is gone! There is a huge hole in all of Billy's friends & families hearts that will remain until everyone is reunited with him!! Billy I Love & Miss You With All My Heart~~~~ Your "other" Mom, Diane~~~

I cannot believe that I am just now hearing about this tragedy. I went to Kingsbury High School with Billy. Although, we did not circulate in the same group of closest "best friends", Still, we were in many, many classes together and certainly knew each other well. After knowing each other for several years, we also discovered a connection that we did not even know we had. For many, many years, my dad had been very close friends with a man I only knew as Gordon. My dad and Gordon worked together for years and I had met him and heard his name many times. Billy had also heard his parents talk of my parents, only noone realized who was who. It is a "Small World Afterall." We finally put it together that my dad's "Gordon" was Billy's dad.
My husband also went to Kingsbury and knew Billy and Gordon. We ran into Billy a few times after school, but in 2001, we moved to Heber Springs, Arkansas. I don't know how we could have missed this. We both still keep in touch with several friends from school and almost every night, I watch our local news, which is out of Little Rock. Evidently, I missed the night that this story ran. I know I would have known the name and recognized his face. In all of these photos, I can still see that same familiar face and those same eyes.
I came to find out about this just a few weeks ago. My own cousin, David Morris, Jr., who went to Kingsbury with us, passed away this past month. He would have been "Class of 1992." He was 34 years old and died of a massive heart attack. He died the week after this past Christmas (Dec. 2008). It is almost impossible to accept when someone so young dies, for any reason or in any way. His father, David Morris, Sr. also works at Proctor & Gamble where my dad worked with Gordon. He is now mourning the loss of his 34 year old son. I don't know if they still associate with each other, but I only hope they can be there for one another, since they have now been thru basically the same thing.
When I was in Memphis last week, after my own cousin died, I got together with friends and family and everyone was talking about how strange it is to know how many people we went to school with have died. I had heard of every person's story until they mentioned Billy. I could not believe what I was hearing. I was asking about what happened and heard some very basic information, enough to know that he was shot in Little Rock. I called my dad immediately. He had not heard anything. It was just like hearing that my cousin died. At first, there is alot of shock. We just could not believe that it was true, in fact, I found this website while trying to research online to make certain that this was really true before I told my family the wrong info.
I want to extend my family's sympathy to all of Billy's Family, Friends and loved ones. We all wish that you find some way to find peace with your loss, as we hope that someday we will be able to find peace with the loss of David.
All of our Love and prayers,
Aaron & Felicia Johnson (formerly, Felicia Oakes) & Family. Also,
Fred & Portia Morris, David & Betty Morris & Family (of Buckeye/Proctor & Gamble)
